Halloween was celebrated at the Museum on Friday

Face painting, lucky dip, spooky tales and pinning a tail on the black cat ... plus pumpkins, skeleton bookmarks and fancy dress.   And then there were the youngsters!

Don't forget next month's evening talk ... on Northampton's national Leather Collection.

Philip Warner is curator of the collection and will be giving us a guide to collection and its fascinating story.

What's on at the Art Gallery and Museum ...

The Development of Brass Instruments was very entertaining, and was a different sort of evening for us at the Gallery.  The acoustics are very good so we should have music more often ...

Perhaps in addition rather than instead of monthly talks on art and history?

Alfred East Etchings

Unfortunately I missed the exhibition opening - but I got my copy of the new book and a browse around the exhibition whilst I was down for the talk.

It's a must - the book and the exhibition.  East was prolific and accomplished.  And this is probably the definitive collection.

Some will be unfamiliar subjects, some reflect East's work in oils.

So there is a Halloween event at the Museum on the 28th
The KDAS exhibition is now on the Large Gallery
Kettering Cooperatives has just opened at the Museum
There's a series of films in the Gallery
... and the etchings exhibition.

It'll take more than one visit.

Stop Press! Change of this month's evening talk at the AEG!

Unfortunately there has had to be a change to the published Wednesday night Friends Talk at the Gallery this month.

Steve Weston will be taking a fascinating look at the development of brass instruments.

Rachael Aldridge will give her talk on Stained Glass in January
